Carlos D. Serrano received his Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law, where he was the Associate Bilingual Editor of the ILSA Journal of International and Comparative Law. Besides his work as a bilingual editor for the journal, he was actively involved in the journal’s Interpretation and Translation Assistance Program (ITAP), lending his time Pro Bono to assist unaccompanied minors seeking asylum in the United States. As a result of his dedication, Mr. Serrano was awarded the Pro Bono Honor Program's Bronze award. ITAP itself was also honored with the Judy M. Weightman Memorial Public Interest Award by the American Bar Association's Young Student Division, in recognition for its outstanding contributions to underrepresented groups and public interest causes outside of law school. Mr. Serrano was also a member of the Nova Trial Association, where he advanced his skills in civil litigation and trial advocacy.

Mr. Serrano enjoys live music, traveling, and spending time with his growing family. He is a member of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division.
